Eilon, August 13, 2006
Hello friends
Here is a brief account of some local events.
Yesterday a rocket fell near Eilon's disused oxygenation pools. Today a rocket fell near the local cemetery. Some shrapnel managed to reach the cluster of residential buildings where Gilad lives.. During the same barrage an elderly man was killed in Ya'ara.
Two rockets of the larger Khybir type fell in Tirat HaCarmel, across the entrance to HaHotrim. I just managed a conversation with Shuki on the steps of his shelter. He provided the sizzling details.
I am not going to give a lengthy in depth analysis of the UN resolution. While I can speculate and say that I am cautiously optimistic, I am mostly incautiously pessimistic.
My workmate just phoned, inquiring whether we should begin work after the official ceasefire is to come into effect. I wouldn't be surprised if the situation actually deteriorates since Hezbollah needn't concern itself with the niceties of honoring the resolution. Hezbollah is not accountable to anyone, which is where this crisis actually begins.
